Morning and night are often seen as opposites—
beginning and ending,
light and dark.
The unicorn placed them side by side,
not to compare,
but to let them coexist.
Morning’s lightness
and night’s depth—
neither is lacking.
They simply differ.
The unicorn knows
that whichever the heart leans toward
cannot be wrong.
Placed together,
morning and night do not deny each other.
They simply remain.
