Moon shadows tremble on the ground.
Tie them down,
and they lose shape.
The unicorn leaves them free.
Shadows may sway as they are.
They need not be fixed
to exist.
The moon remains high,
the shadow long and low.
Each fulfills its part.
The unicorn walks on.
Shadows loosen and stretch again.
Unbound—
that is their nature.
月影は地面に揺れる。
結ぼうとすれば、形を失う。
ユニコーンは、結ばない。
影は影のまま、
揺れていていい。
固定しなくても、
そこに在る。
月は静かに高く、
影は低く長い。
どちらも役目を果たしている。
ユニコーンは歩き続ける。
影はほどけ、また伸びる。
結ばれないことが、
自然だった。
